In April 2020, ICL launched HALOXⓇ SCRATCH-X™, an innovative anti-scratch mineral-based additive. It improves scratch resistance and durability and extends the life of industrial wood coatings that are used in cabinetry and furniture.

ICL has open innovation projects in multiple stages. Some projects have just launched into the ideation phase, others have been completed successfully and have become viable products in various business units of the Company. An example of such a project is the development of a unique signaling molecule that improves efficacy against biofilm formation.

ICL has  developed, in collaboration with Melodea, an Israeli startup, an anti-microbial and anti-viral coating technology based on magnesium oxide and nanocrystalline cellulose (PCT patent application).

Nutrient Uptake

Much of the nutrients and micronutrients applied by synthetic fertilizers never make it to the plant, resulting in much waste in economic and environmental terms. ICL has several ongoing projects to address the nutrient use efficiency challenge.

ICL is addressing one of the biggest inefficiencies that agricultural faces: the application of fertilizers vs. their uptake by plants.

Inefficiency is a major problem in agriculture, both environmental and economical. ICL is addressing one of the biggest inefficiencies this industry faces:the application of fertilizers vs. their uptake by plants. As a leader in fertilizers, ICL is in an excellent position to introduce innovative solutions to the market.

ICL is looking at possible cooperation regarding recovering P to fertilizer from Cow sewage/municipality sewage with MIGAL.
