This year has been a challenge for us all. It has also shown us how resilient we are and in many ways brought us together, despite the social distancing we’ve had to practice. To protect our employees and the communities around us, we initiated a global COVID-19 task force.

Resilient food production systems are critical, now more than ever for food security. ICL’s vital role will only expand as climatic uncertainty impact’s humanity’s global supply chains. Our “Zero Hunger” goal (SDG2) is now intertwined with Climate Action (SDG13).

Sustainable Industrial Solutions

ICL’s solutions form an integral part of daily-used products, allowing for safer use of electronic devices, healthier cosmetics and new energy storage solutions.

Taking Action on Climate Change

ICL has achieved significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Further reduction initiatives include changing production processes, development of less carbon-intense fertilizers, switching to natural gas, implementing energy efficiency measures, and lately beginning a transition to renewable energy.

Promoting Circular Economy

ICL is integrating circular economy into its operations. The company is seeking new opportunities for waste re-usage, both internally and with external partners. It is also engaged in several pilot processes to use external waste streams as raw materials in its sites.

Advancing Food Security

ICL contributes to food security through a broad array of Ag Tech solutions, fertilizers, alternative proteins and other products.

Sustainability through the Supply Chain

ICL is a proud member of the global TfS initiative, which promotes sustainable practices throughout the global chemical industry supply chains, mainly through widespread supplier sustainability assessments and audits.

Boulby mine is a central part of the local economy. At the UK level, the mine supported 2,480 jobs in FY2019.
