Human Resource Development

ICL fosters self-fulfilment by enabling its employees to learn, develop and grow in order to realize their ambitions. This is the goal of its Learning and Development team.  The team provides training and learning experiences from the moment an employee joins the Company. As employees continue to grow, the Company provides tailor-made programs to best meet the needs of each individual.  \

Training and Development

ICL views on-going learning as an integral part of the work experience. The Company empowers employees to take their development into their own hands by proactively and independently learning during the flow of work. Management believes that this approach enables development and growth and creates a better overall work experience. 

As part of ICL’s global learning strategy, it has sought to enable its employees to easily access learning and development opportunities that are individually tailored to their needs. Striving to create a modern and flexible learning experience, in June 2020 the Company developed a proprietary platform called MyCampus@ICL. It is a one-stop-shop for learning opportunities where employees can find everything they need to take their development into their own hands. MyCampus@ICL consists of a wide range of learning opportunities to enable success in a dynamic and ever-changing world. Areas of development include leadership, professional and personal development and future of work.

By the end of 2020, MyCampus@ICL provided employees with access to an average of 20 global learning opportunities as well as an abundance of offerings in their geographic region and local language. In addition, ICL’s Learning and Development team published a digital bi-weekly newsletter highlighting over 40 different global learning offerings. In less than six months, the number of visits was 90,593 with an average 90-day visit of 18,888 and 5,012 unique viewers. 

The total number of employee training hours in 2020 was 106,516. Due to Covid-19, the Company swiftly shifted from in-person classroom training to virtual and online short-form sessions. The global training schedule offered learning and development opportunities to meet the needs of all regions and time zones.

Driven by global trends, the necessity to unleash employee potential and enable an agile workforce through re-skilling and up-skilling, ICL is moving beyond MyCampus@ICL to WeGrow@ICL.

 The Company’s vision of WeGrow@ICL is to build agility and resilience for what the future may bring, connecting learning to skills and skills to opportunities. WeGrow@ICL is the next generation user experience providing curated content that is powered by AI and based on up-to-date skills profiles. Real-time insights about ICL’s workforce enables up-skilling and re-skilling to better enable workforce readiness for future needs.

ICL Leaders: Leadership Development Program

To maintain ICL’s competitive advantage and to strengthen leader effectiveness in an increasingly disruptive world, we have developed a unique and impactful leadership development program called ICL Leaders. The program is focused on enabling the personal development of senior leaders within ICL; building a strong community of leaders that will create system-wide impact across the organization; and reinforcing leadership capabilities that embody ICL’s leadership model. ICL’s leadership model is at the heart of who ICL is as a company. The model represents the values, key qualities and capabilities of an ICL leader: someone who embodies and cultivates Care, Dare, Grow, and Winning Spirit. CARE is ICL’s bedrock. Caring for people, the Company and its surroundings enable ICL’s people to GROW and empower them to DARE. Together, these qualities support and drive a WINNING SPIRIT that takes ICL’s people to new heights. 

Shavit: Engineer Development Program

The Shavit program was designed to accelerate the readiness of engineers for future critical and complex roles within the Company. The duration of the program is for one year, and it is geared towards electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineers. The content of the program was developed by internal and external industry leading experts and includes three areas of focus: professional, leadership, and personal. The program was developed in 2020 and it will be implemented in 2021. The first pilot will include 26 engineers from Israel.
