ICL’s Global Volunteer Week was conceived, planned and implemented by the Company’s Global Social Responsibility Committee which includes representatives from ICL’s facilities around the world. During the week, ICL employees were involved in a variety of communal activities.
ICL Employees Make an Impact in Their Communities
In 2020, the event was part of the ICL ESG week, designed to strengthen the Company’s commitment to Social Responsibility. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, employees focused on virtual volunteering, food security and outdoor activities. The various activities held during the week included virtual meetings with the elderly in numerous communities, online fundraising events and educational lessons, alongside park cleanups, donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and food and much more.
The events held during this event were a unique experience, both for ICL’s employees and the communities in which ICL sites are located around the world. They complemented and highlighted the impact that ICL employees have had on the community during the pandemic and their ongoing volunteer activities throughout the year.
A few examples of ICL’s global volunteering activities:
In 2020, due to COVID-19 restrictions, many of the planned activities throughout the year had to be canceled or postponed. As a result, volunteering numbers decreased compared to 2019. Nevertheless, 19% of the global workforce participated in one or more of 117 activities that occurred across the globe.
ICL and its employees will continue to expand these unique, global activities for the purpose of increasing the Company’s contribution to the communities in which it operates.
